Bolton Education Authority Birth Registers

These are copies of the registers of births of children whose parents were residents of Bolton County Borough (Townships of Astley Bridge, Breightmet, Darcy Lever, Deane, Great Bolton, Great Lever, Halliwell, Heaton, Little Bolton, Lostock, Middle Hulton, Over Hulton (part), Rumworth, Sharple (part), Smithills, Tonge-with-Haulgh.)
They were supplied by the Bolton Registrar to the Education Department under the terms of the Education Act of 1921. They are not complete copies of the original registers, but the name and address of at least one of the parents is usually given.
There is a single register for each year, which also contains an alphabetical index of surnames for each district.
