Plaque, Cippus of Horus
With incised standing figure of Horus, facing right as a hawk-headed human figure wearing the Double Crown and holding a sceptre. Behind his head and body is a smaller seated figure, probably Nefertum, who holds a sceptre. Horus stands on something, possibly crocodiles, but there is wear to the stone. No traces of any inscription and back of stone roughly shaped.
Model cradle
Model stone cradle or rocker with semicircular solid wood sides joined by 7 wooden spars fitted into sides. Model version of a cradle used to move blocks of stone. Inscribed: ntr nfr (M3-k3-R') Imn m dsr dsrw R'mry - 'the good god, Makare, beloved of Amun-Re in the Holy of Holies (Deir el-Bahri temple)'.

Model hoe made of two spars of wood fitted together. Model version of hoe used to dig foundation trenches. Inscribed: ntr nfr (M3-k3-R') Imn hnt dsr dsrw mryt - 'the good god, Makare, beloved of Amun, foremost in the Holy of Holies (Deir el-Bahri temple)'

Limestone false door of Sennedswi, who held the titles, smr w'ty; sd3wty bity; imy-r pr. Sole companion, treasurer of the king, overseer of the house. On the central panel Sennedswi and his wife 'Iwwti, hkryt nsw w'ty Hwt-hr hm-ntr, Sole Royal Ornament Priestess of Hathor are shown seated before a table of offerings. In front offering a cup is Nb3y, hrp sh, Director of the Dining Tent.
Architrave, son Khui
Limestone architrave relief fgt. preserving part of inscription at top with below the standing figure of Sennedswi's fourth son, Khui, 'his son, whom he loves, the treasurer, overseer of commissions, Khui'. Behind Khui is preserved the upper part of the figure of a daughter.

Fragment of a rectangular stela of two adjoining pieces. On the left is the standing figure of Sennedswi with part of his name preserved. On the right facing him one behind the other are standing figures of his daughters, Hotepi and Bebi - 'his daughter whom he loves, the Sole Royal Ornament priestess of Hathor, lady of Dendereh, the revered Hotepi' and ' the Sole Royal Ornament, the revered, Bebi'.

Fragment of a rectangular stela. The whole stela had on the left the standing figures of Sennedswi and his wife 'Iwwti, holding the hand of her third son Sennedswi and with inscription on right. Fragment preserves most of inscription. 'Offerings for the revered/ under the great god, Sennedswi'.

Points
Two plain sticks of ivory pointed at one end. The pointed ends are coated with remains of red ochre. The other ends of the sticks are carved down roughly as though they may have originally fitted into a shaft.
False beard
Wooden false beard from a coffin, carved in one piece with tenon for attachment at top.Front of beard decorated with incised lines imitating plaiting. The beard curves slightly outwards and is squared off at the bottom.
Vase
Small footed cosmetic vase, with a rounded body and an outward flaring rim.
Headrest collar
Wooden fluted collar from a headrest which fitted between the top of the shaft and the curved pillow top. With a rectangular hole through which the tenon fitted.
Kohl pot
Large kohl pot with a projecting base, body rising to shoulder, then narrowing to small neck with wide flattened rim. Interior hollowed out like a tube containing remains of a grey, powdery residue.
Lid (vase)
Flat circular lid for a serpentine cosmetic pot.
Polisher
Irregular-shaped, roughly circular smooth lump of diorite used as a polishing stone.
Vase lid
A group of four flat circular lids from cosmetic pots or jars. One has remains of brown substance on the exterior of the lid.

Abdomen and part of legs of female figure from a swimming girl cosmetic container. Navel shown, legs together. One leg remains to the knee and the other to the foot. Partly broken away at front and much broken away at back.

Canopic jar of Neb
Canopic jar with hollowed-out interior and has been used. Inscribed for Neb,overseer of the cattle of Onuris. The text is that for Nephthys and Hapi and the jar was baboon-headed and theoretically contained the mummified lungs.
Relief fragment
Fragment of incised relief inscription with yellow paint in the signs. The inscription gives dates of special offerings in years 38 and 39 of the reign of Ramesses II.
Scribe's palette of Inhertmes
Palette of Inhertmes, overseer of the granary in Thinis. Long narrow block of wood with two wells for black and red ink at top below cartouche of Tuthmosis III. Below ink wells is slot for holding pens with vertical column of inscription on either side of slot. Bar across centre of slot holds pens in position.
Mirror handle
Plain wooden mirror handle, with round base, narrow circular stem widening towards top, hole in top in which tang of mirror was set. Decoration of four incised lines around stem just above base.

Fragment of a lintel with some incised hieroglyphs remaining on both sides in one horizontal line with double dividing lines at top and bottom which bear traces of red and yellow paint. Kohl stick
Kohl stick of polished haematite in the form of a curved human arm, ending in a hand with an incised bracelet at the wrist. The hand end was probably used as a spatula for mixing the cosmetic before applying it with the rounded shoulder end.

Stone bowl sherd
Rim sherd of red-brown greywacke from a shallow flat bowl with raised rim, inscribed with the sign hnt on the exterior.

Body sherd from a stone vessel inscribed on the exterior with the Horus name of Qaa in a serekh surmounted by a hawk.
Beads
String of 25 amethyst barrel beads, graduated in size, of good colour.

String of 41 blue-glazed faience spheroids with two small fused blue-glazed faience cylinders.
Knife
Slim knife with single curved blade at top and long narrow handle widening slightly at botton, which is curved and forms a second blade. Used as a cutting-out knife, possibly for linen cloth, top blade for cutting, bottom blade for cutting through stray threads.
Tweezers
Pair of tweezers with flat ends curved slightly inwards, straight broad sides, and a rounded bridge at the top. Made from one piece of metal.
Spearhead
Spearhead with leaf-shaped blade with raised midrib, the midrib widening and continuing to form a circular hammered and lapped socket. Suggested by excavators that spearhead may be from a later burial in D9.

Hollow metal tube with one closed end and one open end. Fan/mirror handle.

Canopic jars
Set of four dummy canopic jars. Three are solid and carved in one piece. The fourth jar of Imsety, human-headed, has a separate lid and the jar has been slightly hollowed out, but contains no traces of contents and was probably not used.
Palette and Rubber
Rectangular palette with bevelled sides and a rectangular depression on the top. Rubbing stone with rounded top and flat base. Used to grind pigments for ink or cosmetics.

Small plain vessel with a rounded base.
Blue lotus chalice
Slender, trumpet-shaped goblet on a short stem decorated with sepals and petals of the blue lotus flower modelled in relief. Fine drinking vessel, probably for wine.

Spindle bottle
Flask bottle or one-handled jug of reddish-brown ware with polished red slip. With flared circular base, tall slim rounded body widening to shoulder, narrow tall neck, rim missing. With one handle in one piece with jug from neck to shoulder. Syrian type made in Egypt.
Oil flask
Flask bottle or bilbil with flared circular foot, globular body widening to shoulder, narrow tall neck, outward flared, flat-topped rim. Handle broken away, but comprised one strap handle from neck to shoulder. Cypriote-type, probably made in Egypt.
Scarab
Base of scarab decorared with incised peg-like figure of Bes holding knives with four stems with lotiform terminals tete-beche, two on each side of figure. Back of scarab has head, clypeus and plates shown, prothorax and elytra marked, legs raised, feathered and undercut.
Model-granary
Model granary crudely made in unbaked clay. With a round flat base, cylindrical body widening to shoulder and narrowing to hole at top. Small funerary model of a large pottery granary, which had a hole at top into which to pour the grain and a rectangular door at the bottom to extract the grain. Door not indicated on funerary model. Hand-made. Brownish-grey clay.

2 treble, 18 double and 2 single ribbed beads, blue-glazed; 24 small blue frit spheroids; 1 black-glazed ring bead; one black-glazed cylinder. Strung with one blue-glazed faience degraded fish amulet.

6 arca shells in natural state.
Arrowheads
8 ivory arrowheads, plain, sharpened to a point at one end, carved down at other end. Some tips stained black or red.
Model-tools
9 model funerary tools from a deposit made from thin sheet copper roughly cut out. Comprising one axe, one double harpoon, one single harpoon, three chisels and three needles.

Statuette
Crude limestone doll /cult figure painted in yellow and black. Head carved with basic features and long black wig, body represented as a roughly triangular block, faint incisions for arms but no legs shown. The figure stands on its flat base.
Ball
Hollow faience ball, perforated through height for suspension, glazed blue with painted vertical black bands around it. Possibly associated with pendant (1901.36.97) as found in collection strung with pendant. These items are often found in foundation deposits.

Pear-shaped blue-glazed faience pendant, hollow, with suspension hole in top. Possibly associated with faience ball (1901.36.96) as found strung to it in collection.

Strips
3 complete and 2 incomplete flat oblong strips of bone decorated on one side with incised circles with central dots. Each strip also has fixing holes drilled through it. Possibly decoration from a box or piece of furniture, or strips from a heddle-frame for weaving narrow bands.

Dish in the form of a fish. Hollowed out in centre as shallow container, for cosmetic use.

Cow figurine
Hathor cow votive figurine, crudely modelled in reddish-brown ware pottery, coated with red slip or paint. Complete, some damage to legs and one ear/horn. Eyes indicated by round blobs of clay attached to head before firing. Either an offering on its own, or may have been an ornament on the edge of a pottery vessel. Menat counterpoise
Wooden menat counterpoise from a menat or ceremonial necklace, particularly associated with the worship of Hathor and when made in wood usually a votive item. Carved plainly with a disc-shaped end, from which the stem widens to a roughly squared end, which is pierced with two holes. Undecorated.From a votive necklace or an offering on its own.From North Court, through which was causeway to Tuthmosis III temple.

Fragment of upper part of small round-topped stela carved in shallow raised relief with incised inscriptions. At top is part of symbol of Horus of Behdet, winged sun disk with uraei and below parts of headdresses of two deities facing each other- horns and sun disk of Hathor on right and tall plumes and flat crown of Min on left. Buff-brown ware, hollow, moulded. Half-seated female figure, possibly Aphrodite, wearing tight drapery to ankles, hair in Roman style. Right arm was raised, left arm was by her side.

Upper portion of round-topped stela, inscribed on front. Erected under the official Ini to commemorate a mining expedition to Serabit el-Khadim in year 5 of the reign of Amenemhat III. Name of dedicator of stela unknown, but possibly Senwosret? (see 1905:68:02/2).

Relief block
Relief block, lower part of scene, King led by god. Legs, feet, kilts and linked hands shown. One foot of god damaged. This had been plastered over an underlying portion of painted relief. Carved in raised relief with paint preserved.
Saddle stone
Saddle stone from a saddle quern for grinding grain with the top grinding surface polished smooth and slightly concave through use. Made of yellow quartzite. The upper stone or rider was not present.
Pin
Long ivory pin, almost complete, slightly chipped at pointed end and broken at its decorated top. Cylindrical for much of length, then flattened at top from which projects lower part of decoration of what was originally a stylised bird.
Tusks
Pair of ivory pendant tusks, plain with ridges at top above which are suspension loops. Tusks more or less solid, may have been partially hollowed.
Cones
Two pottery cones, orange-red ware with limestone inclusions and with exterior surfaces coated with a dark red slip. Just above the base/lip each cone has a row of holes pierced through the fabric approx. 10 mm apart. Use unknown - pointed hollow cones of this type suggested as plugs to stop holes in water skins.
Comb
Large bone comb with long back and seven long teeth, of which five are preserved to their complete length and two are slightly chipped at one end. Top of comb flat with 2 small projections from it, which are the remains of the decorated top, which was the figure of a quadruped. Comb has pronounced curvature, being carved from the humerus of a cow, probably the anterior humerus.

Small ivory comb, with seven teeth of which five are complete and two broken and with fragmentary portion of eighth tooth at one edge. Comb probably had 8-10 teeth. Back of comb has flat top with central decorative element broken at top, probably originally the figure of a bird or double bird or stylised horns.

Polished red pottery tall beaker, coil-built from a clay containing limestone inclusions, with a red slip vertically polished on exterior and horizontally polished on band inside rim. Not evenly shaped and leans to one side when standing. Probably a votive or funerary offering.

Elongated rhomboid palette, plain, with small depression at centre on one aide containing fragments of green malachite. Petrie,type 92Q.
Bowl
Polished red pottery bowl, handmade and coated with a red slip, diagonally burnished on the exterior and horizontally burnished on the interior. Decorated on the interior in cream paint with a design of four triangles, two opposing with rows of dots and two opposing with zigzag lines, which meet at circle in bottom of bowl with five radiating lines within it. Rim decorated with a single zigzag line.

Tall alabaster(calcite) cylinder vase with rolled rim, tapering from rim to flat base. Model vase, roughly made, exterior not finally finished by polishing. Drilled out on interior, drill markings clearly visible and not smoothed. Funerary vessel. Found in mud-brick mastaba tomb of the Horus Sanakht (Nebka?), 300m north of the mastaba of Neterykhet Djoser.
Stela of Iy, son of Keki
Round-topped stela in incised relief with 2 standards of Wepwawet at top. Inscribed with funerary prayer and depicts owner Iy, 'carrier of lands' and his family, namely wife Atu, sons Ibi and Sneferu, daughter Keki; father Ibi, mother Keki, two men Id and Neh, priests & perhaps Iy's brothers, and lady Tity, probably his sister. Also 5 ladies of the house, most likely relatives.
Stela of Renseneb and Dedi
Round-topped stela in incised relief with 2 sacred eyes at top.Below is a funerary prayer for the royal acquaintance Renseneb and his father, the retainer, Dedi. Below is scene of Renseneb and his wife, the royal handmaid Nubenit on the left and Dedi and his wife, the servant of the ruler Mutpusenbet on the right with a table of offerings between the couples. Family and household names occur on lower part.

Round-topped stela in raised relief with winged sun disc and pendant uraei at top. Below is standing figure of man in classical drapery in full frontal pose, right hand over incense burner. On either side are standing figures of Anubis in profile holding crook and flail, one on left wearing Atef crown and one on right wearing Double crown, both inside incomplete frames representing shrines or booths.

Associated with basin and derived from a metal prototype.

Basin of orange-buff ware with red slip, with circular flat base, body flaring outwards to plain rim. Associated with ewer and derived from a metal prototype.
Tusk cup
Ivory tusk cup carved on both sides to represent the figure of a baboon. Very stylistic ears shown and curve of head and some indication of arms and legs. With incised line around bottom of tusk. Hollow and hole in top of head as well as base.

Ivory tusk cup with base rounded off and with hole in it. With slightly incised narrow band around cup near top to which decorative band of another material may have been fitted. Rim chipped and broken. A cut from the rim down to the narrow band appears original, possibly had a lid.

Double kohl-tube, plain. Solid base, with two tubes hollowed out containing black/grey powdery remains and smaller tube hollowed out in centre between the two tubes into which the kohl stick fitted. Hole drilled in side of 2 kohl tubes near top.

Plain single kohl tube which contains black powdery remains. Tube of ivory with narrow hole drilled into it. The base is solid but has a shallow round hole drilled into it. The top part of the tube is narrower than the rest and has an incised narrow band around it.

Single kohl tube with octagonal shaft and square top like a Doric pillar. Hollow tube with no base, probably plugged with linen. Semi-circular cut-out on one side of top indicates it probably had a lid. No contents.

Single lotus-pillar kohl tube with octagonal shaft and octagonal lotus capital with square top. With one hole perforation at top. Hollow tube with no base, but still containing plug inside. Remains of peg on top and hole indicate there was originally a lid. Two incised lines as decoration between shaft and capital.
Mirror-handle
Female mirror-handle, carved in the form of a nude female. Wearing a long wig and with fairly crude facial features, right arm by side and left arm bent across the body with left hand just below the right breast. Legs closed together. Hole drilled in top of wig to hold tang of mirror and hole drilled between feet, perhaps for suspension of carrying. Finely carved and polished.
Duck-dish
Base of large ivory duck cosmetic dish. Shallow dish carved on exterior as trussed duck. On one side of exterior is preserved the cut-off wing and carved webbed foot and leg. On the other side part of the carved webbed foor remains. Originally a fine example of its type.

Carved hippopotamus tusk, one of a pair. With three bands of incised lines at spaced intervals around tusk and with hole on one side at broad end for suspension. Probably used as an amulet or magical/ritual container.

Stylised ivory amulet, one of three found in grave, with two perforations inlaid with shell and black substance to form eyes and third perforation for suspension. Magical and ritual use.

Carved square of wood. With plain back. Plain border to outside edges of front, and within the border carved in relief with four leaves radiating out from centre to the four corners with a berry between each leaf at the sides. Pierced at two corners with holes for attachment.

Large bulbous storage jar of pinky-buff ware with narrow neck/rim and with incised herringbone pattern round neck just below rim. Contained pods and seeds of gilban (Lathyrus sativus), a fodder plant used as a vegetable.

Female mirror-handle, carved in the form of a nude female. Long wig with hatched incised decoration and fillet, fine facial features and eyes filled in with black. Right arm by side, left arm bent across body with hand, which probably held an offering, just below right breast. Hole in top of wig to hold tang of mirror. Finely carved. Bottom part of legs and feet missing.

Shouldered jar with rounded base. Handmade, with turned neck and rim. Pink/orange ware with self slip, with decoration in red applied with brush. Decorated in 6 vertical bands from neck down most of body- with 5 vertical bands composed of 4 sets of 4 vertical lines; and one vertical band composed of 3 sets of 4 vertical lines. With incised potter's mark on central body.

Small decorated vase with circular base, bulbous body, flat rim and two perforated lug handles at shoulder. Buff ware with brown painted decoration of wavy lines around upper body, rim and base and double zig-zag wavy lines around lower body.

Djed-pillar
Wooden djed-pillar, plastered and painted with on the stem black lines dividing the horizontal bands which are painted blue, green, red and white. At the top of the stem are four bands in raised relief. Tenon at top and a mortise for attachment below. Probably part of an openwork frieze from an item of temple or funerary furniture. From Sector 1, pit by south wall of courtyard, item 101 from cache.

Bowl with convex sides, straight rim and flat base. Type S20. Tomb of reign of Den, suggested as tomb of Queen Herneit, wife of Djer, who died in the reign of Den.

Cast bronze situla, votive offering, with lotiform petal base decorated with scenes in three registers around vessel. See notes for details of decoration and inscriptions.

Offering or incense stand with flaring base and stem and with separate circular tray on top, tray with tenon to fit onto stand. With demotic inscription on exterior of flaring base. Hammered bronze. Chased inscription around base of 4 lines and traces of others, reading: 'Before Osiris-Apis, the great god...Pa...,son of Thotertais whose mother is Ta...the ram, Lord of Mendes, the great god...'

The base is undecorated on the exterior, but on the bottom of the interior is painted a full-length figure of the goddess, Nut. She is depicted wearing a long dress, wig, collar, armlets and anklets with her breasts bared.

Tiraz fragment of tapestry panel woven in linen and silk. Comprising two broad bands of largely abstract interlacing divided by one line of cursive script and with single lines of cursive script at top and bottom. Cream background with predominantly red decoration and some fine black line decoration Linen warp and silk weft.

Two fragments of damask woven silk with khaki-buff ground and darker linear pattern created by additional weft. Fragments represent small portions of a larger pattern of trellis lines dotted with crescents and fleur-de-lys motifs, the spaces between the trellis being filled with bulbous flowers or pomegranates. Covered in plain woven silk net, weave structure not plainly visible.

Two fragments of silk woven in different patterns. Long narrow strip has spreading fleur-de-lys motifs upon a blue ground. Other fragment consists of blue and gold coloured stripes filled with stylized square and diamond motifs.
