Aim:

To provide pupils with an enjoyable, exciting and inspirational learning experience, using the Art Gallery as the springboard for further work.

Objectives:

To provide pupils with an understanding of the wide range of Fine and Decorative Art in the Gallery and different ways of classifying our collection.
To provide pupils with the opportunity of seeing and responding to works of art from different cultures and periods.
To encourage pupils to examine closely and ask appropriate questions about the paintings.
To develop the pupils’ skill in collecting and recording visual and other information.
To develop pupils’ speaking and listening skills, using appropriate artistic vocabulary.
