Aquarium team explains the goldfish that fell to earth

A Salford schoolgirl had a surprise when a live goldfish dropped out of the heavens as she walked to school. The fish was revived and has been adopted as school mascot for St George's RC High School in Walkden.

This bizarre occurrence is not as unusual as it sounds. In the MEN article Pete explained that the likely source of the earthbound fish was probably from a seagull, magpie or even a blackbird. Coastal dwellers experience this phenomenon quite regularly when fish get dropped by seagulls.

The fish would most likely have been pilfered from someone's ornamental pond.
