Saturday 22nd November 1.30 to 3.30pm	Fireworks triptych - Free Saturday activity at Bolton Museum Create a narrative about your bonfire night using a triptych, a three piece picture that opens and closes. A free family friendly activity no booking required.
Monday 8th to Saturday 20th December	Temporary Archives History Centre closure in December '08 The Archives History centre will close temporarily on the 8th December for an annual stock take and will re-open on Monday 22nd.
Friday 12th December	Archaeological Finds officer visit Specialist identification for objects found locally can be provided by the Greater Manchester Finds Liaison Officer, Frances McIntosh.
Friday 12th December 1-1.30pm	The Conservation of the Smithills Hall Bears - free lunchtime talk Free, informal lunchtime talk by our Conservator Pierrette Squires about the work she has carried out to conserve two ornamental objects at Smithills Hall.
Saturday 13th December 2008 to Saturday 28th February 2009	Building Bolton - Up Your Street. Exhibition at Bolton Museum If your four walls could speak what would they say? Focusing on well-known Bolton buildings, this exhibition brings to life memories of the past.
Wednesday December 24th to Friday 2nd January	Christmas and New Year opening times for all services Opening times for the Museum, Aquarium, Smithills Hall and Hall i' th' Wood for the festive period
Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th January 10.00am to 4.00pm	Free New Year winter warm up at the Bolton Steam Museum See Bolton's industrial heritage lovingly restored and bought to life by the volunteers of the Northern Mill Engine Society. Seeing these incredible machines chugging away under steam power is an evocative and impressive sight and it is well worth the visit.
Tuesday 12th January 2009 7.30pm	Horwich Heritage Society talk - Horwich Loco Works, The Later Years This months guest speaker is Jack Smith. Admission is free to members and £1.50 to non-members
Tuesday 7th April 2009	Recording Leisure Lives. A one day conference at Bolton Museum Recording Leisure Lives: Sports, Games & Pastimes in 20th Century Britain. Bolton Museum and Archive Service hosts a second annual Leisure Lives conference in collaboration with Bolton University and in partnership with the Leisure Studies Association.
